Aldi Specialbuy starts new trend and changes Pancake Day for shoppers
Aldi promote their Click and Collect service
Shrove Tuesday falls on February 16 this year, and people are already stocking up for a day full of pancake fun. From kitchen utensils to essential ingredients, Aldi has plenty of options for shoppers to make the best ever pancakes.
One of Aldi’s products includes a £7.99 smiley face frying pan.
It’s a Specialbuy item that shoppers are going crazy for.
The frying pan has seven circular sections, all in the shape of different smiley faced emojis.
These sections are perfect to help customers make their pancakes as circular as possible.

The emoji markings on the pancakes will also be sure to make children smile.
Shoppers have already praised the pan as it was first launched in Aldi stores in February last year.
On the Aldi website, one reviewer said: “Easy to use and get the right size of pancake (my freestyle ones were always odd shapes).
“And the smiley faces are a fun addition,” they added.

Another reviewer wrote: “Great item, my grandchildren loved the smiley faces.”
A third commenter added: “Was lucky to purchase the last pan online and my boys loved their pancakes. They turned out perfect 1st time.”
In addition to the smiley faced frying pan, Aldi will be releasing other uniquely shaped pans ahead of Pancake Day this year.
They include an animal pancake pan, a waffle pan, and a mini pancake pan.
The animal pan once again features seven sections, but this time the markings on the pancakes will consist of cute animals, such as a cat, a hippo, and an elephant.
With the waffle pan, customers can make thick, fluffy waffles.
The last pan in the assortment, the mini pancake pan, enables buyers to make tiny pancakes that can be eaten as cereal.
Pancake cereal has already been seen as a new trend on TikTok, where users of the social media platform add mini pancakes to a bowl of milk and top them with fruit.
Aldi’s website says that the pans are “easy-to-clean”, are non-stick, and have heat resistant handles.
The discount food retailer will also be bringing back its Churro Maker and its Crepe Maker at the same time as the pancake frying pans.
Using the Churro Maker, customers can make the Spanish doughnut-like snacks more easily, before sprinkling them with sugar and dipping them in hot chocolate sauce.
All products will be available online from February 7 and in all Aldi stores from February 11.
