Alison Hammond, 46, sent social media into overdrive over the weekend following an appearance on This Morning. Viewers were in disbelief when the television star seemed to forget that Joan Rivers had passed away.

The Birmingham born star was fronting the show alongside friend Dermot O’Leary after being announced as new hosts back in January.
Both Alison and Dermot host each Friday segment of the programme after it was revealed that veteran hosts Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford were to front only the half-term programmes.
However, Friday’s edition of the show left social media users in fits of rage after the pair were given a virtual tour around the penthouse of the late comedian, Joan Rivers.
While Alison was left in awe of the stunning home which costs £27million, that was not the talking point on Twitter.

The luxury New York penthouse was the home of Joan Rivers who resided at the property for 28 years until her death in 2014, aged 81.
Moments after being given a look at Joan’s former home, Alison appeared to make a blunder, forgetting that the iconic star had passed away some years ago.
Alison asked: “What about Joan Rivers? She’s got a lovely New York penthouse, hasn’t she?”
To which property expert Leonard Sternberg responded: “Well this used to be Joan Rivers’ penthouse, which was carved out, it’s a huge penthouse, it’s like stepping into the 18th Century Versailles. This is currently asking for £27million, it just came onto the market.”
Correcting Alison’s error, he added: “Of course, Joan passed away, tragically, seven years ago and it has since been owned by someone else.
“But the late actress is selling this home for $38million or £27million, it has 11 rooms.”
Alison’s error did not go unnoticed and viewers instantly took to social media to share their thoughts on the moment.
One tweeted: “Alison obviously blissfully unaware that Joan Rivers is actually dead #ThisMorning.”
While a second added: “Classic Alison talking about Joan Rivers having a NY penthouse, not realising she died seven years ago! #ThisMorning.”
Before a third penned: “Alison obviously thought that Joan Rivers was still alive #ThisMorning.”
“Alison – Joan Rivers died nearly seven years ago! #ThisMorning,” commented a fourth.
A fifth exclaimed: “Alison talking about Joan Rivers having a NY penthouse, not realising she died seven years ago!”
Joan passed away at a New York City Hospital aged 81, on September 4, 2014.
A New York City medical examiner stated that Joan passed away due to low blood oxygen during a procedure to treat changes in her voice as well as acid reflux.
Sharing the news of her death, Joan’s daughter, Melissa said: “It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers.
“She passed peacefully at 1:17 PM surrounded by family and close friends.”
