Amber Davies heartbroken as grandfather dies and dedicates first cabaret show to him

Amber Davies has opened up on her devastation as her beloved grandfather has died.

The Love Island star was left utterly heartbroken by the loss and decided to dedicate her first cabaret show to her late relative as she struggled to grieve.

Sharing the news with her followers on Thursday afternoon, she explained her grandad had sadly passed away a day earlier.

The 25 year old, who went on a trip to the Maldives last month, posted a black and white snap with her younger sister and their adored family member in the middle, as a smiley Amber wrapped her arm around her loved one.

The elderly family member looked incredibly proud of his granddaughters and clearly adored them as he posed for the camera with a beaming grin.

"02.3.22 my family gained the most precious Angel," the reality TV beauty posted in simple white letters over the top.

"I will love you forever and always Taid."

The Welsh star then posted an iconic snap of herself performing in a feather trim dressing gown for the debut of her Proud Cabaret show.

"Last night's show was for him," Amber said, admitting that despite the rawness of her loss, she felt her grandad had been a support to her from the other side.

"Taid you gave me strength & guided me through every second," the Love Island winner went on. "I really felt it."

The star then shared an incredibly poignant throwback snap of her gran and grandad in their younger days, as the image was taken in a sepia tone and old-fashioned hue.

The pair smiled and posed together in what appeared to be a nightclub venue, and Amber's grandfather looked dapper in a black suit and crisp white shirt for the evening, likely in his late 20s.

While the news may have come as a difficult shock to theatre newbie Amber ahead of her grand debut, the star appeared to take it all in her stride as she sang her heart out to the packed studio audience.

The star previously told fans her new residency was a "pinch me moment" and she "couldn't wait to get this party started".

She first got her big break in musical theatre with a role in Dolly Parton's 9 to 5: The Musical.
