The festive favourite saw a number of famous faces taking to the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom for a one-off Christmas special. The presenter was paired with professional Aljaz Skorjanec for the BBC show, and judge Anton Du Beke scolded her for refusing to dance with him when he previously asked her to be on the show.
The two performed a Christmas-themed Salsa to Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
When presenter Tess Daly asked Anton for his feedback, he snapped: “I can’t believe this!”
He explained: “15 years I’ve been asking you to do this show with me.
“I turn my back for a second, and you’re on with a young model. I’m furious!”
The judge, who up until this year performed as a professional dancer on each series, added: “But I tell you, you were terrific.
“You were grooving and you were moving, I loved it!”
Tess asked typically “harsh” judge Craig Revel Horwood: “Are you going to be naughty or nice, Craig?”
“I’m going to be nice,” he replied. “I really, really enjoyed that.”
He told the 72-year-old: “You came down the stairs like Shirley Bassey.
“You had all that confidence, got into a fabulous groove. It was great. And hip action, darling, amazing!”
Stunned, Moira replied: “Thank you!”
Motsi Mabuse agreed with Craig, which she said was “a Christmas wonder.”
“I absolutely loved that,” she continued. “I loved how you were walking down the stairs, coming down the stairs doing the Salsa.”
Shirley Ballas commented Moira looked like she “had the time of her life”.
Speaking to Claudia Winkleman following the performance, Aljaz, who danced in the 2021 Strictly series alongside Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies, praised Moira for her efforts.
“I’ve been in this country for over 10 years and I know you’re this incredible broadcasting legend,” he began.
“And for me to have this opportunity to dance with you on Strictly Come Dancing, it’s a little dream come true for me as well, so thank you!”
Singer Anne-Marie ended up winning the Christmas edition of the BBC staple after wowing the judges with a Cha Cha she performed with Graziano Di Prima.
The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
