BBC show Strictly Come Dancing bosses have denied claims that there’s “rising tension” after reports one of this year’s stars Katie McGlynn’sHollyoaks filming schedule is clashing with her dance rehearsal.
The BBC has categorically denied claims from a TV insider reported in The Sun that “tensions seem to be rising” for Strictly bosses surrounding the Hollyoaks’ star’s schedule for the two programmes.
The TV insider said: “Tensions seem to be rising as the actor struggles to juggle her two major commitments.
“There is no suggestion that Katie herself is to blame. She is being pulled in one direction by Hollyoaks and in the other by Strictly.

“But there’s no doubt she is exhausted by her schedule and she isn’t getting in as much practice as she would like with Gorka, who’s even arranged rehearsal sessions in Manchester to make life easier for her.”
A Strictly spokesperson told OK!: “The suggestion that Strictly production is disappointed in Katie for any reason is categorically untrue.”
A Hollyoaks spokesperson told OK!: "Earlier this week exterior scenes were delayed by wet weather. We then rescheduled a scene so Katie could attend her training. We will all be rooting for her tonight."
OK! has contacted Katie’s representatives for comment.
Katie is now starring as Becky Quentin on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks while simultaneously being part of the new cohort of dancers in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The former Coronation Street star, 28, is currently splitting her time between filming the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks in Liverpool during the week and making the 440-mile round trip to star on the BBC’s Strictly live shows at the weekend in Hertfordshire.
Katie came into the spotlight when she was announced as starring in this year’s Strictly as she was previously romantically linked to Strictly pro dancer Giovanni Pernice.
She has since told his current girlfriend Maura Higgins “not to worry” when she joined this year’s cast.
The actress told Love Island’s Maura that a man with a girlfriend is "completely off-limits", and she has "no time for a man" at this stage of her life.
Katie previously denied being romantically involved with dancer Giovanni after the pair were spotted at an awards ceremony in 2017.
Katie first made waves on our television screens as troublesome Jodie ‘Scout’ Allen onBBC’s Waterloo Road from 2011 to 2013.
Since then, the Rochdale-born actress went onto play Sinead Tinker in Coronation Street. Perhaps her best-known role to date and the role saw her being a series regular from 2013 to 2020.
Tackling one of the biggest soap storylines of the year, her character was part of a cervical cancer storyline that saw Sinead battle with the terminal illness and unfortunately pass away.
Katie has since been applauded for bringing awareness to a harrowing topic but ultimately left the soap in 2020, stating that she wanted her character to die.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight on BBC.
