Black Veil Brides Cover Bruce Springsteen In Support Of Black Lives Matter
Black Veil Brides have released a cover of Bruce Springsteen ‘s “American Skin (41 Shots)” in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the nationwide protests against racial inequality.
The Hollywood-based rock band selected the song as it was written in the context of another dark incident in American history; the shooting of Guinean immigrant Amadou Diallo by New York police in 1999.
“Tragically the subject matter of this song is as relevant today as it’s ever been and so we wanted to share with you our own rendition of this song and urge you to donate to support the movement for justice and anti-racist organizations,” Brides said in a statement.
The band makes it clear that they are not interested in making any money from this song and instead urged fans to consider donating to one of the listed organizations.
