Charlotte Crosby returns with new MTV show after Just Tattoo Of Us and The Charlotte Show are cancelled
CHARLOTTE Crosby is returning to new MTV with a new series next week after Just Tattoo Of Us and The Charlotte Show were cancelled.
The Sun Online previously revealed in March that the broadcaster had no immediate plans for filming either series; Just Tattoo Of Us and The Charlotte Show.
Yet, the 29-year-old took to Instagram tonight to share the exciting news with a teaser from the upcoming show called Lockdown Laughs with Charlotte Crosby, which will premiere next Monday.
Filming from her home, the former Geordie Shore star introduced her upcoming project while holding a cardboard sign and promised familiar faces on the show including Georgia Harrison and Sophie Kasaei.
She excitedly screamed: "MTV's Lockdown Laughs with me Charlotte Crosby!
"Was that too much? Come have a giggle with me Charlotte Crosby as I bring you the funniest quarantine clips from across the globe and I'll also call in some of my mates for some fun challenges."
Captioning the video, she wrote: "11.05.20 SECRETS OUT 8pm @mtvuk 👀🥳 7 DAYS TO GO".
Tonight's announcement comes after it was revealed in March that MTV had no plans to make more of Charlotte Crosby's Just Tattoo Of Us and The Charlotte Show.
The Sun Online revealed at the time that the broadcaster had no immediate plans for filming on either series.
Having shot to fame on Geordie Shore in 2011, the TV favourite landed her own reality show – The Charlotte Show – in 2018.
It aired for three series in total, with the most recent premiering in June last year.
Prior to that, Charlotte secured the role of presenter on Just Tattoo Of Us back in 2018, which has run for five seasons in total – with several famous co-hosts.
Talking to The Sun Online, a source has revealed that both programmes are being "rested" for the time being – but said they could return in the future.
The insider told us: "Both The Charlotte Show and Just Tattoo Of Us have had a really good run – viewers love Charlotte and the Just
Tattoo Of Us format has got spin offs all over the world.
"But Charlotte's schedule is packed and MTV has so many other great shows they're working on.
"Both formats are being 'rested' for now. It doesn't mean that they won't come back in the future, but for now there's no more filming scheduled on either of the shows."
When contacted by The Sun Online, MTV said: "Charlotte is an important part of the MTV family. We have ongoing conversations around all of our shows in-between series and these two are no different."
Just Tattoo Of Us follows couples, friends, or family members who design tattoos for each other – with the recipient unaware of what the inking is until after it is permanently etched onto their body.
Over the years, Charlotte has presented the programme alongside her ex Joshua Ritchie, Stephen Bear, Joey Essex, Olivia Attwood, and Chloe Ferry.
The format was so successful that international versions of the show were launched across the globe, with the US version – How Far Is Tattoo Far? – hosted by Jersey Shore's Snooki.
The Charlotte Show followed the star's day-to-day, with cameras tracking Charlotte as she went about her work and personal life.
