Children destroy makeup artist mum's products worth thousands of dollars

A mum was ‘heartbroken’ after she realised that her children had absolutely destroyed all the inventory she uses as a makeup artist.

Jaylynn Butler was left in tears after seeing her makeup, skincare, hair products and nail polish smeared all over her carpet and bathroom sink.

In a TikTok video, she showed the products that her three-year-old and six-year-old demolished, and wept as she attempted to clean some of it off.

The items had cost the mum-of-two thousands of dollars.

To top it off, Jaylynn revealed the mess had happened on New Year’s Eve, meaning her start to the year was ruined and she had to spend hours cleaning.

She said in the video: ‘This is what I get for being nice mommy. I was distraught to see my hard earned money in the sink.

‘It was the night of new year’s eve and my kids were busy. All of my makeup and skincare in the sink, destroyed.

‘This is so heartbreaking. My heart is broken right now.’

Jaylynn told Metro.co.uk: ‘It felt like my heart broke for the first time. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pain like what felt looking at that mess. It was confusing to look at.

‘I don’t even remember what I said to the kids, but it was loud.

‘I’m estimating anywhere from $2-4,000 (£1,400-£2,900) was lost. That was makeup, skin care, hair products and nail polish.’

Despite the heartbreaking mess, Jaylynn says she understands her kids weren’t being malicious.

In follow-up videos, Jaylynn explained that her children were trying to create slime they had seen on television.

She said she understood that it was a mistake on their part, and given their ages, couldn’t stay too mad at them.

Since she lost much of her stock, a friend of Jaylynn set up a GoFundMe page to raise some money to recover the products and open a studio space for the mum.

After her video went viral on TikTok, Jaylynn was also sent makeup sets from kind strangers.

The mum filmed herself opening it and thanked everyone.

If you also want to help Jaylynn, you can donate to her GoFundMe page.
