Bargain Hunt: Christina Trevanion learns value of tribal masks

Bargain Hunt is back on BBC One and the daytime antiques show features a long list of presenters. Christina Trevanion has been a part of the series for many years and she has just taken on a new project. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about her children.

The 41-year-old auctioneer was born in Shropshire in 1981 and she founded Trevanion & Dean with her business partner, Aaron Dean.

She had previously worked at Christie’s, an auction house based in London.

The expert has appeared on a number of BBC shows as an expert in antiques including Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is and Flog It!

The star recently began presenting along with The Repair Shop’s Will Kirk on The Travelling Auctioneers.

Christina is married and she has two daughters and she opened up about her personal life.

She said: “I am married with two children and a dog called Welly. Life is pretty noisy, hectic and good fun.

“Technically, I collect 18th century teapots and 1970s glass, but hate boundaries so will buy with my heart and if I like it, I’ll have it (coffers dependent).

“This has resulted in a very eclectic collection including some rather bizarre finds.”

The star is on Instagram but she tends to keep her children off of her social media profiles.

Her biography on the Trevanion website refers to the star as a “busy mum to two daughters”.

Back in 2016 she mentioned her children to antique-collecting.co.uk during a Q&A about her own collections.

She said: “An eclectic mix of inherited family pieces and treasured saleroom purchases.

“I have two small children and so my 18th century teapot collection was packed away until they get a little older.”

For her work, she specialises in jewellery, silver and watches having worked in the industry for more than fifteen years.

After graduating as a Fine Arts Valuation student Christina went to work at some of the UK’s most renowned auction houses.

She set up Trevanion Auctioneers in 2014.

Speaking of her latest venture, The Travelling Auctioneers, she said: “It’s really exciting to be a part of such an innovative new series and working alongside Will.

“Whether it’s a cellar, a barn, a loft, or the back of a cupboard, I’m really looking forward to uncovering the hidden treasures so many of us have in our homes.

“And giving them a new lease of life – while making the world of auctions and restoration accessible to as many people as possible.”

Bargain Hunt airs on BBC One on weekdays at 12.15pm
