After the miscarriage of justice at Seb’s (played by Harry Visinoni) first trial, a distraught Abi (Sally Carman) and crestfallen Imran (Charlie de Melo) ended up turning to each other for comfort in a moment of madness. The two spent the night together, but as of yet, nobody else knows. The Coronation Street lawyer spoke to Abi in Friday’s episode to explain Kelly (Millie Gibson) would be released soon. Abi angrily ordered him to leave her alone – could a vengeful Kelly get the truth out of Imran and expose them after Abi’s hostile welcome?

Friday’s instalment of the ITV soap saw the moment fans have been waiting for come to fruition as Corey (Maximus Evans) was arrested for Seb’s murder after new evidence came to light.

As Abi celebrated, her mistake came back to haunt her as Imran appeared behind her.

“This is a private party, what do you want?” She asked him.

“I’ve launched an appeal against Kelly’s conviction,” Imran replied.

He added: “I thought you should know.”

Abi snapped: “Why would I want to know that? Don’t ruin my day.”

“She’s innocent,” Imran argued as Abi went on: “She started it, and he finished it.”

Imran pointedly responded: “We’ve all done things we’re not proud of, haven’t we?”

“Yeah,” Abi commented, “But what she did caused Seb’s death. Stay away from me.”

Viewers found out that Abi and Imran spent the night together a few weeks ago when the pair spoke to each other in hushed tones.

“I’m sorry, I had to be honest with her,” he told Abi, referencing his partner Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor).

He added: “Don’t worry, I didn’t mention you.”

“So what did you say?” She asked, to which Imran replied: “The truth. That it was just a drunken one-night stand with someone I met at a hotel bar.”

Although others now know that Imran cheated on Toyah, he has managed to keep Abi’s identity a secret.

But is that about to change once Kelly is released?

It’s clear Abi isn’t going to welcome Kelly back with open arms, and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) aren’t likely to either.

Although she didn’t kill Seb, and tried to stop Corey from attacking him, his friends and family continue to blame her for her initial involvement in the attack.

If she comes home to a frosty atmosphere, Kelly may find it hard to settle back into life in Weatherfield.

She is also likely to find out about her foster dad Imran’s cheating because he and Toyah are struggling to be around each other.

Kelly is probably going to get the truth out of Imran and might see it as the perfect opportunity to get revenge on Abi.

The teenager might decide to go to Toyah and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) directly, but in typical Coronation Street style, she might expose Abi and Imran in public.

Having just got married to Abi, how will Kevin take the news?

And after telling Toyah that the one-night stand was with a random person, she isn’t likely to react well.

Will Kelly’s revelation end up tearing the two couples apart?

With the scandal exposed, things are bound to get explosive on the Street.

It’s possible Kelly might start causing even more trouble after her stint in prison and the reactions of residents.

Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
