EastEnders spoilers: Bosses drop huge hint over boat tragedy victim – who will it be?

EastEnders has seen its most well-loved characters find themselves in danger after a boat party turned into tragedy with many of the residents fearing for their lives. However, Kate and Jon admitted there was “only one candidate” who could die ahead of tomorrow night’s big reveal.

The fate of some of the Square’s biggest names has been put completely into question as bosses have kept viewers entirely in the dark about the identity of who will die.

Tomorrow night’s episode will finally address all the questions viewers have wanted the answers to as they will find out who will fail to make it back to Walford alive.

There are several well-loved residents who could be in danger as some remain trapped on board the boat, whilst others desperately try to seek safety.

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press ahead of the climax earlier this week, Kate and Jon teased the character who will meet a tragic end.

Kate explained the thought process behind deciding which character to kill off, saying: “There is something almost like a tragedy about this particular person who dies.

“It could be argued that it’s been set up for quite some time. It is like a Greek tragedy.

“We discussed it in-depth and actually had a lot of arguments about it as well. The story room, the conference room is a vibrant place,” she joked.

Jon agreed, saying: “Well, as Kate says, I think there was only one.

“In retrospect, you will see there was only one candidate, really, who can kind of generate the kind of story that we wanted to tell going forward for months and months,” he stated.

Characters who have been shown in obvious danger so far include Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), whose fate was left unknown after the latter got her foot stuck and the water continued to rise.

Ian Beale and Dennis Rickman’s (Bleu Landau) lives also hang in the balance after Ian’s decision to lock Dennis in a room aboard could prove fatal.

It came after Ian’s son Bobby (Clay Milner-Russell) remains in a critical condition after being the victim of an Islamophobic attack alongside Habiba Ahmed (Rukku Nahar) and sister Iqra (Priya Davdra).

Ian soon found out from Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) the true culprit, Dennis, after Dotty (Milly Zero) had discovered incriminating evidence on his laptop.

This week has also presented problems for other characters, including Bex, who was seen in danger after taking contaminated pills.

She became in an increasingly worse state earlier this week after the police showed up to mum Sonia’s (Natalie Cassidy) house warning her about the drugs she had brought.

Kate noted what the show wanted to celebrate in the huge milestone week, putting the focus on the show’s families.

She said: “Well, I guess, as well as kind of celebrating London and that kind of iconography that comes with EastEnders, we also wanted to celebrate the clans and the families. And so you’ve got Carter’s on Monday.

“Then we’re looking at the Beales and Fowlers on the Tuesday. The Mitchells will be taking centre stage on Thursday and then everything coming together in combination on Friday.”

With the identity of the fatality still in question, who will fail to make it out of the boat party alive, and what consequences will it have?

EastEnders continues tomorrow at 8:30pm on BBC One.
