EastEnders star Ben Champniss announces he's become a dad as Shrimpy actor welcomes baby boy
EASTENDERS star Ben Champniss has revealed he's become a dad after his partner Georgie gave birth.
The actor, who plays market stall holder Shrimpy, posted a picture of the pair and their baby boy – wearing one of the character's trademark hats.
He shared the adorable snap on Instagram writing: "Introducing, Freddie Robert Champniss. Born Saturday 24th July at 5.40pm. Weighing 7lbs."
Ben added: "Georgie is the coolest, most unbelievable person I know, and both her and Freddie are doing so well!!
"We're so happy to finally meet you, Freddie! The final piece of the puzzle. Life made ♥️."
The actor was swiftly congratulated by his EastEnders co-stars, with Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay, writing: "Congrats to you both ❤️."
Luisa Bradshaw White, who played Tina Carter, added: "Ahh so much Iove to u both. Congratulations! Can’t wait to bump into u all!!! X."
Ben announced their baby news back in February, writing: "Georgie and I are delighted to announce that we're having a baby!!"
Stallholder Shrimpy has been a fixture on the BBC soap since 2014 when he sprung up Bridge Street market selling hats.
