Emily Atack shares insight into friendship with Emily in Paris Lucien Laviscount

Emily Atack offered a rare insight into her friendship with former Waterloo Road actor Lucien Laviscount as they attended the Brits on Saturday night.

Emily, who was recently praised for her powerful documentary, attended the Brit Awards this weekend in a racy ensemble from Victoria Beckham.

The former Inbetweeners actress documented the night on her Instagram Stories, where she shared snaps with the likes of Becky Hill, Daisy May Cooper and sports presenter Alex Scott.

Emily, 33, also shared a picture that featured herself sharing a hug with Emily in Paris actor Lucien Laviscount, who is now a regular cast member on the show after first being introduced as Emily’s (Lily Collins) love interest.

The black and white picture showed the two Brits passionately embracing as Emily wrote in the caption: “Bezzies for about 500 years. Love ya @its_lucien.”

Emily also shared the same picture on her Instagram grid alongside many more from the night, with one featuring Stormzy.

“Well.. that was a Brit of fun,” she captioned the post, which spared Ashley James to reply, “Stunning.”

Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison added: “You look aaaammmaazzzinnnngggg.”

Both Emily and Lucien have been UK staples since starting their careers decades ago, with Lucien rising to fame on shows like Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, Skins and Celebrity Big Brother, and Emily having a similar career trajectory which no doubt pushed the two towards a friendship.

This comes after the former Dancing on Ice hopeful, who featured on the show in 2010 with Hayley Tamaddon and Danniella Westbrook, spoke openly about the online harassment she faces on a daily basis.

Touching on the same subject she addressed in her documentary, Emily Atack: Asking for It?, Emily explained: “Because I put bikini pics up on my Instagram and talk about sex in my shows, and I am very cheeky and flirty, there will be people saying, ‘But you asked for this negative attention, what do you expect?’ You do sit there and go, ‘Is this my fault? Is this something I’m putting out there?’”

During the lockdown that was created as a result of the covid pandemic, Emily said she realised she was getting “messages on my social media, all the time, constant, constant, constant.”

She continued: “These were slowly getting worse, more sexually aggressive. I’ve been getting these messages for years but being in lockdown seemed to exacerbate the situation in full force!

"I felt like it was just slowly chipping away at me. I really noticed it was something that was playing a huge part in my life that I’d never really talked about."

As a result of the vile messages she frequently receives, Emily has thrown her weight behind the Online Safety Bill, which can “go a long way to combatting the issue of online sexual harassment” and “particularly when it comes to the legal but harmful content.”
