Emmerdale: Shock affair for Gabby and Leyla as Rosie Bentham teases future?

Emmerdale’s Rosie Bentham (Gabby Thomas) has opened up on the future for her character and Leyla Harding, played by Roxy Shahidi, teasing a shock affair could be on the horizon.

The pair have been getting closer over recent episodes, with Gabby’s behaviour towards her pal becoming increasingly possessive.

After engineering a situation between Leyla, Meena and Liam – which doesn’t quite go to plan – her desperation only gets worse.

And Rosie revealed she goes ‘very far’ in her quest to keep their bond strong, and Leyla out of Liam’s hands.

‘I think it’s clear she’s very open to sabotaging anything to get her own way,’ she told Metro.co.uk. ‘She does go very far…

‘Obviously she has lied a lot, deleted texts but lies can only be kept secret for a certain amount of time. But she really does not want Leyla and Liam together.

‘She doesn’t like seeing Leyla upset but she can’t afford to lose her, she will lose her job, be on her own. Leyla has created a whole life for her.’

She explained there is definitely more to come, with the pair becoming closer – but will the friendship turn to something more?

‘I don’t think this lying is going to ease away. There’s a big surprise coming up – yeah, Gabby does get closer,’ she continued. ‘Her plan works.

‘But she has lied along the way – secrets can only be secret for so long.

‘The Gabby and Leyla thing has more legs. That’s her priority, she won’t go anywhere until she has that friendship where she wants to.’

Speaking about what Gabby’s ’endgame’ could be, Rosie added: ‘I think it’s to be by Leyla’s right hand side all the time. She wants to be like her.

‘Gabby acts quite to her instincts without thinking of repercussions. She is doing it to get closer to Leyla whereas in reality there’s a lot of stuff to come out and she hasn’t thought about the problems of her lies.

‘It’s a very small village.’

Will Leyla realise the truth before Gabby goes too far?
