Gogglebox applications 2020 – how to apply for the Channel 4 show – The Sun
IT may have made many stars out of the show but they all started off like one of us – just watching telly from the comfort of their sofa.
And now's your chance to bag some cash while watching TV as Gogglebox's production company, Studio Lambert, have opened applications. But what do the armchair critics get for appearing?
How can you apply for Gogglebox and what are bosses looking for?
The production company previously looked for viewers with "strong and entertaining" opinions about TV and many of the current Gogglebox families were "street cast" after being found in locations such as bridge clubs (June and the late Leon) and hairdressers (Stephen and Chris).
Those interested in possibly joining the show, which catapulted Scarlett Moffatt, Amy Tapper and Steph and Dom to stardom, are expected to commit to 12 hours of filming a week across two six-hour shifts.
Applications are still open for Gogglebox 2020 – but it will be for series 16 airing later this year.
Hopefuls have been told to get in contact by emailing email@example.com should they think they're right for the show.
Do contestants get paid to appear on Gogglebox?
Gogglebox hopefuls aren't paid a salary per se.
But they are promised free takeaway and £1,500 a month for watching TV.
Sounds pretty dreamy right?
