Gok Wan has raised £30,000 for charity by shaving his head live on TV in honour of one of his young relatives who is undergoing chemotherapy.
During an emotional segment, the fashion guru explained to This Morning viewers that his cousin's 12-year-old daughter, Alyssa, has been diagnosed with leukaemia.
Gok then revealed that he would be shaving his quiff off live on air to raise money for the Young Lives Vs Cancer charity.
The star admitted he was feeling nervous at the beginning of Thursday's episode, as he explained his plan to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
As a picture of Alyssa – who has shaved her head – appeared on screen, he said: "Alyssa wants to make it very clear that actually short hair can be cool. I've worked in fashion for decades and I know how important image can be."
Gok then began by shaving his own head, but as he tentatively ran the clippers through his hair, Phil complained that he was taking too long and asked the hairdresser on set: "Are you going to help him?"
As she quickly cut through his hair, Gok shrieked and was left open-mouthed at his new look.
It was then revealed that Gok, who had encouraged viewers to donate viewer via text, had raised more than £30,000. Phil also announced that £10,000 had been donated while the show was on air.
Talking about the fundraising stunt earlier in the show, Gok fought back tears as he read out a message from Alyssa, who calls him Uncle Babe.
The youngster was unable to record a message herself as she was feeling so sick from her treatment.
An emotional Gok said: "She was going to do a video message but they've just changed her treatment, she's not feeling very well. I will cry…"
As he held back his tears, Gok continued: "Thank you so much for cutting your hair for Young Lives vs Cancer I hope you raise loads.
"Can you please cut your hair like mine to show all the young people going through treatment that short hair is cool?"
