Hollyoaks George’s killer exposed and evil Cher continues to destroy Mercedes

Hollyoaks favourite John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) makes a shocking announcement in upcoming scenes.

After new evidence in PC George Kiss' murder case puts John Paul in a comprising position, his lawyer, James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan), tells him there is only one way to secure a lesser sentence, to plead guilty.

Later, John Paul gathers the McQueen family to make an announcement.

Meanwhile, Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) is certain she’s found out who the mystery witness is that puts John Paul at the crime scene, and it’s a lie.

The McQueens celebrate a small victory in the case, but how are they going to prove that the witness is lying.

Theresa knows who the false witness is, but DS Cohen doesn’t believe her, and warns her to stay away or she’ll arrest her for wasting police time, so she turns to James for help.

Ste Hay (Kieran Richardson) worries James’ feelings for John Paul could be reignited if he is working closely with him, so James agrees not to work on the case anymore.

However, it’s not long before he goes back on his word and helps Theresa trap the witness into admitting that they lied about putting John Paul at the crime scene.

Later, Leah overhears a conversation between James and the McQueens, and realises that he has lied to her dad, Ste.

Following Theresa’s successful mission to debunk the witness statement, John Paul is released from prison and returns home, although he is still a prime suspect.

He explains to his son, Mathew Jesus, why he went away.

However, viewers will be shocked when someone tries to cover their tracks, but accidentally leads the police straight to the murder weapon, but who is it.

Ste is furious when he finds out that James went behind his back and confronts him. James continues to lie to get himself out of it, and Leah is furious when her dad takes James’ side over hers.

The walls are closing in on one of George’s murder suspects, as flashbacks take us back to the scene of the crime, and reveal new information about what really happened in his final moments.

Ste doesn’t know whether he can trust James when he promises no more lies, and he doesn’t know whether he can forgive him for disrespecting his daughter, Leah.

Later, James apologises to Leah, and she has a plan for him to get back in to Ste’s good books.

The hour of reckoning has come for George’s murderer, as they prepare to come clean and reveal the truth, but will anyone get in their way.

James asks Marnie to pick up a dancing costume in town for Leah, so he can get back in Ste’s good books.

However, things don’t go to plan when Marnie picks up the wrong outfit, leaving Trish frustrated and Leah disappointed.

Elsewhere, Mercedes is still hearing baby crying noises as Cher continues to gaslight her.

Romeo tells Cher he thinks he knows what the problem is, and they surprise Mercedes with a ‘glow up’ from Cher to cheer her up.

Cher films herself giving Mercedes a makeover, and it looks like they are finally getting along, until Cher sees the comments on her social media posts of Mercedes, saying that she is hot, and jealously kicks in.

At the Osbornes, Darren surprises Nancy with a meditation session to help with her stress.

Darren wants to get out of the “friend-zone” and has decided to tell Nancy how he feels.

He’s about to ask her out, but bottles it when Brooke interrupts them.

Later, Nancy realises what Darren was going to ask her, but how will she react?

At The Hutch, Darren is disappointed to be stood up by Nancy, as Celeste offers to keep him company.
