Trinny Woodall has shared a tongue-in-cheek home tutorial on ‘how not to dye your eyelashes at home’.

The British style presenter, 56, who lives in West London with her millionaire partner Charles Saatchi, 76, took to her Instagram account to reveal she was trying her hand at some beauty DIY during lockdown, as she is unable to see her beautician.

Wielding her dog’s nappy, Trinny claimed she had found herself without cotton wool and was using a piece of it instead – though it is unclear why she didn’t use tissue.

Taking to her account, she admitted feeling her lashes were a little pale, and revealed she ‘used to dye her own lashes all the time’.

She wrote: ‘Like many of you out there, I am beginning to take beauty procedures into my own hands at the moment, for better or worse, and this week I trialled some at-home eyelash and eyebrow dye.

‘Lacking cotton wool, I had to be resourceful and use a dog nappy (an obvious substitute) as I did my best to follow the instructions provided in an attempt to redefine my lashes.’

Trinny was then seen applying a barrier cream, and cutting pieces of the dog nappy to place under her eye, before applying the dye onto a mascara wand and applying it to her lashes.

Battling with the pieces of nappy, she admitted: ‘Oh god this is a disaster’, before adding: ‘I have a bad feeling about this – how are you supposed to apply the dye with your eyes closed?’.

Covered in dye, she said: ‘Oh god it’s stinging’, before waiting a few minutes and rubbing the mixture off her eyes’.

She then added a bit to her brows, before admiring her handiwork and admitting: ‘I’m actually impressed with that! It just looks that little bit better. My beautician would kill me though!’.

The TV presenter has been ensuring she stays in the spotlight by sharing clips about her favourite products garnering 307,000 views.

Last month Trinny’s partner Charles Saatchi, 76, was accidentally filmed naked in the background as the fashion expert recorded her livestream on Facebook amid the UK’s lockdown.

Trinny began dating businessman Charles in 2013, following his divorce from wife of ten years, Nigella Lawson.

In 2013, the TV chef, 59, was famously seen looking distressed as her then husband grabbed her by the throat, with the images shocking the nation.

The dramatic bust-up at a swanky Mayfair restaurant saw the couple’s decade long marriage crumble just weeks later.

Trinny then came under fire for apparently taking a swipe at Nigella, 60, when she spoke of ‘grabbing life by the throat’ – a year after the incident.

Speaking of her 50th birthday on her blog at the time, Trinny wrote: ‘It’s great that, at 50, life can still grab you by the throat and shake you up’.

Iraqi-British businessman Charles is the co-founder of advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi with his brother Maurice.

The pair have a combined fortune of £146 million, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
