I’m A Celeb’s David in tears as he reads out touching letter from Danny’s fiancée Steph

In Monday 6 December's episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! tears were shed as the campmates received letters from their loved ones.

The most emotional moment came when football legend David Ginola was tasked with reading out former Emmerdale star Danny Miller’s letter from his fiancée, Steph Jones, who gave birth to their son Arthur just a month before the show began.

Soap star Danny, 30, and wife-to-be Steph welcomed Albert to the world on 25 October at 9:16am, weighing 6lbs 11oz.

As David, 54, read out the letter, he was visibly emotional as tears were seen falling down David's face.

“Dear Daddy, it’s Steph and Albert here,” he read. “He recognises your voice on the telly and looks up at it when he hears you. I really think he looks more and more like you every day.

“We all love watching your relationship with David blossom. Thank you David for looking after our boy.”

David tearfully continued: “Finally, remember what I tell you every day. You are strong, you are wise… we feel extra lucky to call you ours.

“You are our daddy, our only daddy, you make us happy when skies are grey. My first ever love and my last.”

After reading the letter, the former professional footballer walked away from the group in tears, with soap star Danny quickly following behind to give him a warm hug.

“I’m proud of you, it was beautiful,” David said. “They love you so much.”

Later on, he admitted he’s not used to getting so emotional.

“I try to control most of the time my emotions, but sometimes it’s good to let them go,” he said.

The campmates had taken part in a WiFi-themed challenge in order to win their loved ones' letters.

Pairing up, each team was tasked with remembering a code from Kiosk Cledwyn, winning their partner a letter if they got it right, but losing it if they were wrong.

While David won Danny his letter, Danny got his code wrong on all three attempts, meaning David's letter would not reach him.

“He wanted so much to get it right for me, that probably put himself under too much pressure," said David.

“I’m just gutted," said Danny, crying. "I feel so selfish because he remembered mine and I couldn’t remember his."

David and Danny were voted for by the public to be the castle’s camp leaders on Wednesday 1 December’s episode.

Danny was overjoyed by this news, as it meant he could share a bed with the Spurs and Newcastle legend.

"This is a dream come true for me – you and me in the same bed,” he told him. “I could cry mate, honestly. I’m doing everything not to."

"Sleeping next to the guy, I have 100% solidified my man crush on him,” he later admitted in the telegraph.

Not long after being elected leader, David took on his first Bushtucker Trial alongside Eastenders star Adam Woodyatt, 53, and music producer Naughty Boy, who it was recently revealed has been lying about his age.
