I’m A Celeb’s Simon Gregson says ‘I thought I was dying’ in ‘horrific’ cyclone trial

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star Simon Gregson said "I thought I was dying", after enduring the show's iconic Celebrity Cyclone challenge in Saturday night's episode.

Simon, alongside his campmates, David Ginola, Frankie Bridge, and Danny Miller all took on the epic challenge, which determines whether they will get their final meal or not.

The brutal trial saw all four celebs attempt to tackle a huge slippery structure while various items, including huge inflatable balls, were launched at them.

The foursome were hammered by powerful winds and jet streams as they attempted to hold onto their giant stars in order to successfully win their much-needed meals.

Each star donned a colourful superhero-style outfit for the task, paired with safety goggles to protect their eyes.

Former footballer David went first, holding onto all four stars as he scaled the enormous structure, shortly followed by Frankie, then Simon, and Danny taking on the final run.

Corrie star Simon, 53, branded the epic trial "horrific", as he told his fellow campmates he thought he was "dying" while clinging onto his precious star.

Fellow soap star Danny, 30, could be seen struggling as he attempted to maintain his position at the top of the structure, before the entire foursome were swept back down to the beginning of the course thanks to a huge tsunami of water and objects.

However, they weren't disheartened and quickly set out resuming their positions on the structure, going on to each successfully win their final meals.

The Cyclone challenge comes ahead of the I'm A Celebrity final which is set to air on Sunday 12 December, where Simon, Danny, David and Frankie will battle out it to be crowned king or queen of the castle.

The latest elimination saw EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt and Olympian Matty Lee voted off the show, and both stars were full of praise for the show upon exiting.

Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec, Matty said: "The experience has genuinely lived up to the expectation, it's been exactly what I thought at times. It was really tough at times, like it's not easy being in there.

"Being so secluded and not being in the real world. I've met some amazing people along the way!"

Meanwhile soap star Adam teared up as told the presenting duo: "I'd looked at it as if it was going to be a new start. There's a lot of stuff still going on. Mentally, I've sorted myself out. My head was in the right place going in there which is why I've loved it so much."
