The Strictly Come Dancing professionals will be partnered with a new celebrity on Saturday evening as they take to the dance floor for the first time. The pairings are being kept tightly under wraps but last year’s finalist Jamie Laing has admitted he’s “furious” he won’t be dancing with Karen Hauer again.

Speaking about the new series on Lorraine with the ITV host, Jamie joked he would sit at home like a “jealous boyfriend” as he watches Karen with a new celeb partner.

“Will it be hard for you to watch someone else dance with Karen?” Lorraine asked.

“We don’t know who it’s going to be yet.”

Jamie replied: “I’m furious. Yeah, I’m furious. She hasn’t phoned me, she hasn’t told me, she hasn’t text me.”

Smiling the former Strictly finalist joked: “I mean, I’ll be jealous. I’m like a jealous boyfriend at home watching her dance.

“It’s incredible and I wish them all the luck in the world because it’s an incredible show.”

Jamie and Karen made it to the final last year despite the Made in Chelsea star being a favourite with the bookies to make an early exit.

Karen’s new partner will be revealed on Saturday and the pro will no doubt be hoping to get close to lifting the Glitterball Trophy once again.

Jamie’s remarks come after Janette Manrara revealed her husband Aljaz Skorjanec is “very happy” with his partner this year.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Janette teased: “The celebs are all incredible.

“I was assistant choreographer on the celeb/pro dance, you know the one they do for the first time in their partnerships.

“Obviously it’s been very different the last two years because of social distancing and Covid but I did get to meet all of them and see all of the partnerships and get a first eye glimpse of what’s going to be happening, which is great because then for It Takes Two I have met them already and the ice is a bit broken.”

She continued: “They are all good. Rhys is incredible. Rhys is absolutely incredible.

“They all have something. Adam Peaty is the nicest guy in the world. Of the girls, Katie is incredible, Judi’s personality is insane and she can dance. They’re all good.

“Sara Davies is like the nicest woman ever, I really like her as well.”

Speaking specifically about Aljaz’s partner, Janette smiled: “That is the golden question, you will have to watch.

“He is rehearsing already and he is very, very happy.”

This year’s line-up includes former McFly singer Tom Fletcher, presenter AJ Odudu, Robert Webb and John Whaite – who is part of the first all-male partnership.

Also competing is Rhy Stephenson, Sara Davies, Katie McGlynn, Dan Walker, Tilly Ramsay and Greg Wise.

Completing the line-up is Nina Wadia, Adam Peaty, Judi Love, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Ugo Monye.

Strictly Come Dancing starts Saturday on BBC One at 7.45pm.
