From the moment Claire opens the coral front door to her four-bedroom home in central London’s Pimlico, it’s clear her pad is bursting with character.

From her regal bed to her fabulous art work and photography, Claire’s abode does not disappoint.

Opening up about her five favourite things about her home, where she has lived since 2004, the 50-year-old tells OK! her first favourite thing is a special gift she received from a close friend.

Claire says of the collage: “It was a gift for my 40th birthday. It was something I never would have done personally. A friend did it for me, my very dear friend Pete Price. He made me a collage of kind of my life and my career and it’s in the bathroom.

“I have to say every time I sit on the toilet I see something new on it!”

She continued: “It’s amazing really. It kind of my life up until 40 years of age, so yeah I’m due another aren’t I when I’m 50 I suppose, the last 10 years.

“But I’m thrilled with it. It was a lovely personal gift and the time gone into. There was so much thought and care gone into it and I just love for him for that.”

Another of the star’s favourite things is her gorgeous – and huge – grey velvet sofa.

“I love my sofa,” says Claire, who played Lindsey Corkhill on Brookside for six years. “It’s like a bed. It’s wide, it’s comfortable. It still fluffs up really fresh and new. It was an investment and money well spent.”

The mum of one adds that she and her son, six year old Jaxon, love to “snuggle” on the plush sofa.

She continues: “It’s so comfy and I stir here and I watch my telly and it’s like a bed and me and Jaxon snuggle up on it. And during lockdown we’ve done every Harry Potter movie sat here on the sofa. And I just love it. It’s heaven.”

One of the Liverpool-born star’s most treasured possessions is her This Is Your Life book from when she appeared on the legendary TV show in 2022.

She says: “One of my favourite things is my This Is Your Life book, which I’m very proud of. It was an iconic show at the time and such an honour to have it done.

“I got surprised at Abbey Road Recording Studio when I was doing my album. And I sit and look at it now. I showed it to Jaxon the other day and he was just baffled by it. That’s such a lovely thing to have.

“It’s funny, when I look at it it’s like it’s another person. It’s like it was 10 lives ago.

“I remember looking at this picture when he surprised me and at the time thinking, I wish I would have put my lipstick on. I had no lippy on!”

Opening up about some of her memories and the photos in the book, Clare adds: “It’s all my Brookside days, my family, Ken Dodd is there, which is lovely I remember Ken Dodd saying on the video: ‘I advised her to get elocution lessons and then she went and spent six years in Brookside!”

It’s so lovely and there’s also my mum and dad, my dad’s not with us anymore. And my brother and my auntie and uncle.”

As well as pictures from her career, Claire’s home is also filled with snaps of her family.

Of one of her favourite photographs of herself and Jaxon, Claire says: “I was sat on the back of a boat going up the Thames with my son Jaxon and my friend Helen took this picture. And she just captured us, I didn’t know it was being taken. I absolutely love it. The pair of us were just sat peacefully at the back of the boat.”

“I think it’s just happiness in a picture,” she adds of the black and white shot.

Claire shares Jaxon with her former partner Daniel O’Reilly, who lives in Liverpool.

On the subject of black and white photography, Claire’s final favourite thing is a rare image of American actress Ava Gardner, who was married to Frank Sinatra.

The photograph sits in Claire’s dining room, which she says is her favourite room.

“I collect black and white photography,” says Claire. “And I love Ava Gardner and there is a Terry O’Neill picture downstairs in my dining room.

It’s the most beautiful picture. I love Frank Sinatra and Ava and she was the love of his life, and this is her probably in her mid 40s.”

It’s number three of 50 so it’s quite a rare one,” she adds. “It’s a beautiful photograph.”
