Inside Rita Ora and Oscar-winner Taika’s romance, from first dates to future plans
Rita Ora and boyfriend Taika Waititi seemed happily in love as they posed together at the Super Bowl over the weekend.
The couple cuddled up together as they watched the Super Bowl in Los Angeles on Sunday as they approached their first anniversary as a couple.
Taika Waititi is a filmmaker, actor, and comedian from New Zealand.
He's best known for the 2014 film What We Do in the Shadows and the WWII comedy-drama Jojo Rabbit which was released in 2019.
Here's a look inside the couple's romance…
First dates
Rita and Taika were friends for several years but their relationship is thought to have turned romantic a year ago when Rita was in Australia filming The Voice.
On Valentine's Day Taika, who shares two daughters with his ex wife Chelsea Winstanley, wrote: “First photo the night we met four years ago. We've been mates ever since. Then a year ago we decided to "complicate" things but it just got easier. Happy Valentines Day to my bestie @ritaora”.
Rita wasn't expecting to find love with Taika, and previously shared: "I didn't expect to find love in Australia, nor was I looking for it.”
The pair made their red carpet debut in April as they attended the LA premiere of The Suicide Squad.
Family plans
Rita recently revealed that freezing her eggs was the “best thing” she ever did and how she “wasn’t expecting” to find love with boyfriend Taika.
Speaking to The Independent, Rita said: “'I'd love to have a nice big family!
“I think as women, we put that pressure on ourselves, subconsciously, because we feel like that is our duty – to create and give life.
“So, I just wanted to not worry about it. And I didn't after, and it was the best thing I ever did.”

Relationship now
Rita and Taika seem happier than ever, and certainly showed it while enjoying their Super Bowl date.
Posting a blurry photo of the couple together on Valetine's Day, Rita wrote: “Us. 4 years ago. To now. thanks for being cool. And entertaining me forevs..Happy Valentine’s Day bestie."
Rita is keen to keep her relationship out of the spotlight, after having bad experiences in the past after she could be “so trusting and sometimes oversharing”.
“I think protecting something that you really care about, you've got to have a sense of privacy a little bit. I wouldn't have known that if I didn't go through what I went through in the past,” she said.
A source recently told The Sun: "Rita and Taika are head over heels.
"From what she says, he's 'the one' for her. None of her mates would be surprised if he popped the question soon."
The source continued: "Some people might see that as quite quick but they've barely spent a day apart since they got together."
