Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan, 42, recently returned to social media following the death of his beloved father Allan Jordan who died after a battle with cancer. The Dancing On Ice champion shared a candid message with Eamonn Holmes as the This Morning presenter shared his own heartbreak.

The 61-year-old took to Twitter and responded to James after the professional dancer offered his well-wishes to the broadcaster who has been suffering from chronic pain.

Eamonn took the opportunity to reassure James he will get through his heartbreak as the veteran TV anchor opened up about the loss of his own dad on the micro-blogging site.

He explained that “everyone hurts and heals differently” in the candid post.

It comes after the This Morning presenter reached out to his one million followers as he “checked in”.

Eamonn penned: “Well time to check in again…who’s not having a good night? Who has pain that’s stopping them being in a beautiful dream?

“Who is living a waking nightmare through #ChronicPain? Just trying to get us all speaking to each other and offering comfort and support.”

James was one of the first to reply, as he wrote: “I hope you get some answers and remedies soon my friend.”

Eamonn took the opportunity to respond, saying: “Watched your video about your Dad, James. My condolences. My Father is 30 years gone today. Believe me, if you talk to him, think about him, remember the good times it helps a lot.”

The former Strictly star then made a candid admission as he confided in the presenter.

James remarked: “I miss him so bloody much.”

Eamonn, whose dad died 30 years ago, echoed a similar sentiment as he shared an honest message.

He replied: “As I do mine… it’s so raw James and it will take at least four seasons to pass.

“You have to deal with birthdays, anniversaries, big events like Christmas. Everyone hurts and heals differently. What you will do in his name is important too. I’m just so sorry for you mate.”

“Big love to you and the family. Can’t wait to see you again and hope by then the pain has gone for you,” James commented.

Their exchange comes after the former Strictly Come Dancing professional’s father died last month from a brain tumour leaving his family heartbroken.

He recently shared a video detailing his sorrow as he opened up about the “horrendous disease” which caused his father’s death.

In the clip, James commented: “Cancer is awful no matter which cancer it is but a brain tumour, in particular, takes away that person’s identity a lot.

“Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer in children and adults under 40. Out of £600million raised in the UK, less than three per cent goes to brain tumour funding for treatments.”

James added: “I want to change that because I don’t want any of you guys to go through what I and my family went through.”

Eamonn has previously recounted the harrowing details of his dad Leonard’s death who died at the age of 64 from a heart attack.

In his book, the This Morning host said that his mother Josie never got over Leonard’s death, while Eamonn explained that he struggled with grief.
