James Martin took to Twitter last night ahead of an appearance on Britain’s Most Luxurious Hotels. The TV chef, who is best known for fronting self-titled cookery show Saturday Morning, also runs a restaurant at Chewton Glen hotel.

The stunning retreat was featured in the Channel 4 show last night.

James told fans that he had been working for 36 days straight when he was filmed for the documentary.

“Excuse the appearance in a bit on C4 I think it was on my 36 day straight shift ha ha,” he wrote on Twitter, in view of his 704,500 followers.

Many took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts, telling the chef that he had nothing to worry about.

“You’re still good looking even though you’re tired,” one user remarked.

“Hard work is nothing to apologies for James,”(sic) another added.

A third chimed in: “Thank you for heads up … Chewton Glen is divine, those tree houses! We would have never guessed 36 days straight shifts, you looked as fresh as a daisy!”

“36 days or not James, your still looking gorgeous. Never realised C.G was so big!! Enjoying it on C4+1,”(sic) a fourth fan remarked.

However, one viewer said they thought something was amiss with the presenter.

“I did wonder [laughing emoji]. Not your usual smooth self,” the post read.

Sharing a similar thought another wrote: “Not your usual ebullient self, but still looked the part.”

Others were confused as to which programme James was referring to.

“Thought you were on Celebrity Gogglebox then for a minute!”

“Gogglebox or Who Dares Wins?” another amusingly remarked.

James runs The Kitchen at the five-star hotel, which featured in episode three of the show.

The 48-year-old said the place was very special to him and had many fond memories.

“I came through these gates aged 19 or 20-years-old, as a young keen pastry chef to get the hotel its Michelin star back. And we achieved that,” he said during his appearance.

“Chewton Glen has always had a special place in my heart.

“I had my 18th birthday here, my 21st birthday here. Had my 40th birthday here,” he explained.

“There are very few places like it in the world,” James continued.

Just last year, the chef shared a picture on social media from his 21st birthday celebrations at the hotel.
