Jamie Lee Curtis Co-Signs Karol G for Slamming Photoshopped Magazine Cover
In an Instagram post, the Oscar-winning actress weighs in on the 32-year-old Colombian Grammy-nominated artist calling out GQ Mexico for photoshopping her cover photo.
AceShowbiz –Jamie Lee Curtis praised Karol G after the musician spoke against unrealistic body standards. In an Instagram post, the Oscar-winning actress weighed in on the 32-year-old Colombian Grammy-nominated artist calling out GQ Mexico for photoshopping her cover photo.
“I’m so happy that @karolg is bringing awareness to an issue I have been concerned about for a long time,” Jamie wrote on Sunday, April 9. “We are human beings. We are not AI and this genocide against what is naturally beautiful is alarming and needs to be talked about.”
“There are a few people being very vocal like [Justine Bateman] and [Andie MacDowell] and myself and I’m very encouraged that a younger person is joining the chorus of disapproval. The cosmeceutical industrial complex wants you to look in the mirror and hate yourself and then buy their bulls**t,” the “Everything Everywhere All at Once” star went on to note.
Karol made use of her Instagram account to blast GQ for photoshopping her face and body on the recent magazine cover. “I don’t even know where to start this message… Today my GQ magazine cover was made public, a cover with an image that DOES NOT represent me,” the singer shared a bare-faced selfie and the edited cover photo.
“My face does not look like this, my body does not look like that and I feel very happy and comfortable with how I look naturally,” the “TQG” singer added. “I thank the opportunity magazine because I was very happy when they confirmed it would be there, but despite making clear my discontent with the number of editions you they did the photo, they didn’t do anything about it, as if to look good I needed all those changes.”
“I understand the repercussions this can have, but beyond feeling it’s disrespectful to me,” she continued fuming. “It’s to the women that we wake up every day looking to feel comfortable with ourselves despite society’s stereotypes.”
