Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar wish son-in-law Derick Dillard a happy birthday after he accused them of stealing money – The Sun

JIM Bob and Michelle Duggar have wished their son-in-law Derick Dillard a happy birthday – despite his recent accusations against them.

The Counting On stars called Derick a "loving husband" and a "wonderful daddy" on social media on Monday in a bid to put their months of feuding behind them.

The reality stars wrote on their official Facebook account: "Happy birthday, Derick! 🎉 We’re so thankful for you!

"You’re a loving husband to our sweet Jill, and a wonderful daddy to your boys."

They concluded: "May God bless you in this new year!! ❤️"

Some fans were confused by Jim Bob and Michelle's post, considering Derick's recent claims on Instagram about them.

The 31-year-old alleged in December that father-in-law Jim Bob negotiated show contracts on his children’s behalf.

Derick replied to a fan asking why they filmed without compensation: “We were pressured to think that we were required to and that we would get sued if we didn’t.”

He continued how he and Jill were under the impression that the Duggar kids “didn’t make any money from the show.”

The law student wrote: “But rather, it was presented to us kids as something that was done as a ministry that TLC periodically subsidized in the form of reimbursements for things like gas, restaurants, travel, etc.

“But not any actual pay on top of that.”

He also claimed the family is “not allowed” to be in the Duggar home when Jim Bob “isn’t there.”

He explained: “Jill even had to ask JB permission to go over to the house to help her sister when she was in labor because her sister wanted her help, but Jill couldn’t provide the assistance until we got it cleared with JB.”

Since Derick’s claims, they have been missing from family events.

Jill was not pictured at sister-in-law Abbie’s baby shower, which took place in the Duggar home.

Jill, Derick and their two young sons spent Christmas with friends instead of family.

Derick came under fire last month for calling cooking "woman's work" in an Instagram post.

The former Counting On husband posted a photo of his wife Jill, 28, cooking in their kitchen with son Sam in a carrier on her back.

Derick, 30, captioned the photo: “Baby Sam helping Jill in the kitchen #teachemyoung #ergobaby #womanswork."

The #womanswork hashtag led to followers slamming Derick, who believes in old school traditions and has strict religious morals.
