Katie Price makes dig at Peter Andre for not being ‘involved’ in Harvey’s life

Katie Price has made a dig at ex-husband Peter Andre for "not being involved" in eldest son Harvey's life.

The mum-of-five has said that son Harvey Price, 19, thought of Peter as his "daddy" for the first six years of his life, as he grew up with siblings Junior and Princess in a "proper family unit".

Writing in her new book, Katie Price: Harvey & Me, the 43-year-old said: "I don’t understand how you can be so full-on in a kid’s life and then pretty much just not be involved any more."

She went on: "After it all went t*ts up, Harvey just couldn’t understand why Pete wasn’t around any more. He’s a very smart boy and he’s obviously built that resentment against him."

Katie and Peter got married in 2005 after falling in love on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and divorced in 2009.

She shares son Junior, 16, and daughter Princess, 14, with Peter, while Harvey is from her relationship with Dwight Yorke.

Katie said: "You can’t just pick and choose when you want to see him. You either see all the kids together, or you don’t."

Sticking the boot in, the former glamour model added: "I may no longer be with Pete or Kieran [Hayler], but I find it quite upsetting that they haven’t shown more support for all the campaigns we’ve set up for Harvey over the past few years.

"Whether you’re in his life or not, you still know Harvey and what he’s been through.

It’s not about me, it’s about supporting Harvey and protecting Harvey."

Despite what Katie writes in her book, she praised ex-husband Pete last year when he supported her through Harvey's health battles.

Last summer, Harvey was rushed to hospital with breathing difficulties and put in intensive care.

The teen has genetic disorder Prader-Willi Syndrome, is partially blind due to Septo-optic dysplasia, autistic, diabetic and has an under-active thyroid.

Katie told New magazine at the time: "Over the years we've had our ups and downs, but Pete has been really supportive about it."

She added: "He's asked to go to the hospital. He can't do it without me, so he'll come and visit Harvey with me. How's that for an amazing improvement?

"Regardless of our ups and downs, the fact that he's stepped it up – I see his feelings as being really genuine."

And after Katie and Harvey's documentary aired earlier this year, Peter posted a supportive message for his former step-son.

He wrote on social media: "He's the best," and added some heart emojis.
