Kerry Katona plans Vegas wedding like J-Lo – but theres one thing she wont copy

Kerry Katona has revealed she’s planning a Vegas wedding like Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.

Following the Hollywood couple's nuptials last week, nearly twenty years after they got engaged, Kerry, 41, says she and fiancé Ryan Mahoney want “exactly the same” ceremony.

Writing in her new! column, the former Atomic Kitten star, who has revealed her heartbreak after her daughter Heidi told her “she didn’t want to be here any more”, said: “Congratulations to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who have tied the knot 20 years after they originally got engaged.

“The couple wed at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. The way they got married is exactly the same as how Ryan and I want to do it – a low-key ceremony in Vegas.”

She added: “We’re just waiting for Covid restrictions to ease a bit more in America and then we’ll go ahead and do it.”

However, there is one detail that will be different. Kerry continued: “Apparently J.Lo is changing her surname, which I find really weird because Ben’s first wife was also called Jennifer. I wouldn’t want the same name!

“I’m not changing my name again. I was Kerry McFadden when I married Brian because I wanted to have the same last name as the kids. I’ve changed my three younger children’s surnames to Katona, so I’ll stick with that.”

Singer Jennifer, 52, and actor Ben, 49, obtained a marriage license in both of their names on Saturday, July 16. They then exchanged vows in front of their loved ones, including Jennifer's twins, Emma and Max, 14, as well as her mum.

Jennifer then officially announced the happy news in her newsletter, On The JLo, and posted a string of snaps from her and Ben's big day.

"We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient," she wrote.

She then revealed that they'd flown to Vegas and "stood in line for a license with four other couples", and that she and Ben had "barely made it to the chapel by midnight".

"Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world. Behind us two men held hands and held each other.

"In front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing— for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage," Jennifer wrote.

The chapel stayed open for the couple luckily and they took some snaps in a pink convertible car, however Elvis wasn't present as he was "in bed".

The mum-of-two added: "We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed)."
