Lizzo Claps Back At ‘Fat Shamers’ In Workout Video
Lizzo posted a video on TikTok last Tuesday and took on “fat shamers,” telling them in strong words to stop judging others as there’s more to one’s health than what’s featured on the outside.
The clip features Lizzo trying on lingerie, doing her exercises and showing off her curves in a swimsuit. And that’s not all. She comes out with a fitting reply to body shamers.
“So I’ve been working out consistently for the last five years,” she sayd, “and it may come as a surprise to some of y’all that I’m not working out to have your ideal body type. I’m working out to have my ideal body type. And you know what type that is? None of your f–king business. Because I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job and I stay on my job.”
She continues, “So next time you want to come to somebody and judge them — whether they drink kale smoothies or eat McDonald’s or work out or not work out — how ’bout you look at your own f–king self and worry about your own goddamn body. Because health is not just determined on what you look like on the outside. Health is also what happens on the inside, and a lot of y’all need to do a f–king cleanse for your insides. Namaste, have a great day.”
In a message posted to TikTok last week, Lizzo said, “Every time there is a big girl on this app, I find that people always put my name in the comments. And to the people who be putting my name in the comments, thank you. Because you know what? If every time you see a big girl on this app, loving on herself and putting herself out there and being confident and loving her body, you think of me. Or you think she looks like me. Bitch, that is a what? Compliment.”
Lizzo once slammed a Twitter user who said her success was due to an “obesity epidemic,” by retorting, “I’m popular because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love. The only person who needs to do better is you.”
