My family have disowned us after my husband was rude about wedding food
DEIDRE SAYS: MY husband was rude about the food at a wedding and now my family has disowned us.
I am 40, he is 42. We went to my cousin’s wedding two years ago and the food was dreadful – it was overcooked, cold, pretty disgusting.

My husband said he wouldn’t serve it to a dog – and I agreed. But somehow this got back to my cousin.
Since then, we haven’t been invited to any family weddings or even to birthday parties.
I am so upset and can’t understand why we have been shunned for something so petty.

Can you talk to another member of the family and ask if they will help to try and smooth things over?
Perhaps you and your husband need to be the bigger people and apologise to your cousin, even if you feel she is in the wrong too.
