One Direction: Harry Styles RESPONDS to rumours he is taking enormous 007 role
One Direction shocked the world when they announced their split in 2016. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan broke the news just one year after their pal Zayn Malik had left the band in the middle of their world tour. Since then, each of the artists have gone on to nurture their own brand with solo albums and singles – and Styles has even started trying to make a name for himself as an actor.
Dunkirk saw visionary director Christopher Nolan tackling the real-life story of the 1940 evacuation mission.
While the film was filled to the brim with well-known stars, nobody was expecting Styles to take the main role of Alex, a young British soldier.
Following his appearance alongside the likes of Michael Caine and Tom Hardy, critics expect to see the Watermelon Sugar singer to appear on the silver screen once again in some capacity.
Most recently, rumours emerged that suggested Styles has been actively pursuing the role of James Bond.
The upcoming Bond film, No Time To Die, will see Daniel Craig’s tenure as 007 come to an end and all eyes are on notable actors who may just take on the iconic role.
Styles recently saw his odds on becoming the next Bond slashed from 100/1 to 25/1.
This news prompted rumours that he was looking for ways into the franchise.
A source told The Sun: ‘Harry is deadly serious. He has had a series of high-level meetings about becoming 007.”
The source added: “Harry believes he is the final two. Harry is a new age British man. He’s confident in his own skin and making him Bond would signal the franchise changing with the times.”
However, a representative for Styles said the reports “aren’t even remotely true”.
Unfortunately, this may mean the star is instead sticking to music rather than appearing on the big screen in the future.
This may be fantastic news for One Direction fans, however, as Tomlinson recently hinted that new music was on the way.

While answering a collection of questions on his Twitter account, one fan inquired if he would be releasing new music “soon”.
Tomlinson responded: “Wrote 4 songs in 4 days. It’s cooking.”
The We Made It singer only released his latest album, Walls, in January of this year.
So then, it is entirely possible that Louis was actually talking about new music for the 1D boys.
Earlier this month leading bookmaker Coral gave One Direction incredible odds on getting back together in 2021.
The betting agent gave the band 1/6 on reuniting in the coming months.
Unfortunately, these odds don’t include Malik’s return, as Coral’s John Hill commented: “1D fans have been desperate for their favourite group to get back together and our betting suggests their wish may be granted in 2021 with a reunion.
“The boys could release a new album and even play at Glastonbury next year. However, all of that is likely to be without Zayn who has just become a father for the first time.”
