'Outer Banks' Fans Want Netflix to Share These Deleted Scenes ASAP
Many Outer Banks fans truly cannot get enough of the hit Netflix series. They’ve cherished every moment of seeing their favorite Pogues and Kooks on-screen, and now, some fans want the deleted scenes.
Outer Banks‘ editing team had to make a few cuts before season 2’s release, as is typical with most films and TV shows. Unfortunately, this means some fans might not have gotten to watch the scenes they most looked forward to after seeing the season’s trailer and production stills. Here are a few Outer Banks deleted scenes viewers still hope to see.
[Spoiler alert: The following story contains some spoilers for Outer Banks Season 2.]
‘Outer Banks’ Season 2 featured twice as much action as season 1
Season 2 of the Netflix teen drama picked up immediately after the events of season 1. John B. (Chase Stokes) and Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) fled Kildare County by boat, only to capsize in a storm and get rescued by a ship heading to the Bahamas. Thankfully, that’s exactly where they needed to go to find the $400 million in gold.
Sarah and John B. continued the hunt, although they experienced some obstacles along the way. Meanwhile, back home, JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), and Pope (Jonathan Daviss) discovered another treasure: the gold Cross of Santo Domingo, worth millions of dollars.
Outer Banks Season 2 saw the Pogues ultimately reunite and try to take back the treasures. Along the way, they all had their own near-death experiences, making this season twice as action-packed as the first. They might not have succeeded in the end, but the Pogues are determined now more than ever to win the fight.
Many fans looked for an ‘Outer Banks’ scene between Wheezie and Ward Cameron
Outer Banks Season 2 received plenty of positive feedback from fans. However, some found themselves missing the deleted scenes. On Reddit, one user pointed out a sweet moment between Wheezie (Julia Antonelli) and her father, Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), that never made it to the final cut.
A behind-the-scene photo showed the pair lying down on a boat and pointing to the sky. The scene appeared to take place before Ward’s explosion on the Druthers, as Wheezie wore the same outfit.
“They couldn’t keep it in, it would look as if Ward actually knows he has another daughter…” one person commented.
“Poor Wheezie,” another user added.
Wheezie and Ward had very few scenes together in season 2. The Camerons often left their youngest daughter out of the loop during the treasure hunt, and Ward often focused on Sarah and Rafe Cameron (Drew Starkey). After watching season 2, many Outer Banks fans wrote on social media that Wheezie deserved better treatment.
Another possible ‘Outer Banks’ deleted scene might have featured the Pogues surfing
Another possible deleted scene showed the Pogues surfing. As seen above, some production stills featured JJ and Kiara on surfboards, laughing and smiling in the water. The scene might have come from the Pogues’ evening of fun after their reunion.
“The deleted surf scene looks so fun and happy. After everything they’ve gone through, they deserve something happy. I also love the idea of Kiara, John B, or all the Pogues teaching Sarah to surf,” a comment on another Reddit post read. “One of the pictures showed her on a board with Kiara, and I thought that was so cool. It would’ve been a good friendship development scene since she’s the closest with John B. If Netflix doesn’t release it, Imma riot lol.”
“This season they focused too much on constant action. Hopefully, we get more of those happy, beachy vibes scenes next season,” another person added.
Outer Banks Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Netflix.
