The Ox is the second sign in the Chinese zodiac and this year is the Year of the Ox. Express.co.uk chatted to Feng Shui and Chinese astrology Expert Marites Allen (@maritesallen on Instagram) to find out everything you need to know about the Ox.

Your Chinese zodiac sign isn’t like your star sign in Western astrology, which is determined by your date and time of birth.

Your Chinese zodiac sign depends on what Chinese Year you were born in. For example, this year is the Year of the Ox.

Chinese Years are based on the lunar year, with the Chinese New Year falling on the second New Moon after the winter solstice on December 21.

That’s why the date changes every year, but it is normally between January 21 and February 20.

This year the Chinese New Year is on February 12, and it’s the Year of the Metal Ox, so Ox-born people will be feeling their best.
