Phillip Schofield helps save gardener’s life after anaphylactic shock incident

A gardener's life was thankfully saved after a scary moment where he went into anaphylactic shock while working next door to This Morning presenter Philip Schofield.

The life-threatening emergency was caused after the gardener was stung three times by a bee while working at Phillip's neighbour's property.

According to Phillip, after calling the emergency services an ambulance and paramedic team arrived on the scene within three minutes.

Sharing a photo on Instagram of the dramatic moment the ambulance was parked on his street, Phillip wrote: "When the gardener next door is stung three times by a bee and goes into anaphylactic shock.

"And our incredible ambulance and paramedic team are here in three minutes!!

"We are SO lucky to have them.

"He's going to be fine thanks to them, thank you."

According to the NHS, anaphylactic shock is a "severe and potentially life-threatening reaction to a trigger such as an allergy".

Symptoms can include feeling lightheaded or faint, breathing difficulties, and collapsing or losing consciousness.

It can be necessary for those experiencing anaphylactic shock to be given a shot of adrenaline.

Philip Schofield is currently on holiday as he and co-presenter Holly Willoughby take a well-earned break after working through much of the pandemic.

Phillip recently attended Ant McPartlin's lavish countryside wedding to Anne-Marie Corbett.

Ant and his new wife Anne-Marie Corbett tied the knot at an intimate wedding ceremony in Hampshire, with a large cohort of celeb guests in tow, one of which happened to be This Morning presenter Phil.

Wearing a smart black suit with a crisp white shirt, Phillip stood beneath the floral archway as he posed for the paparazzi.

Phil was joined by his wife Steph, with who he entered the church to enjoy the ceremony.
