Piers Morgan hits out at Corrie snub as he calls Seb ‘impertinent little twerp’
Piers Morgan has blasted Coronation Street for using him in their witty dialogue during Monday night’s instalment, as he called character Seb Franklin (played by Harry Visinoni) a "twerp".
ITV viewers were left in hysterics when Seb suddenly took a swipe at the Good Morning Britain presenter during the latest episode of the soap.
During a chat on the cobbles, cafe-owner Roy Cropper began by asking Seb if he could be candid with him.
Off the mark, Seb teased in reply: "Yeah, you can be whoever you like, as long as it's not Piers Morgan because he does my nut in!"
Piers then proceeded to share a video of the scene on his Twitter page today, and he was clearly unimpressed by the mention.
"Who’s this impertinent little twerp???? @itvcorrie," he captioned the post.
Twitter users found the whole thing hilarious, with many teasing Piers for being affected by the throwaway line on the northern soap.
And there were even more people laughing and giggling away while the soap’s latest episode was airing.
Taking to social media, one person told the former GMB host: "You know you love it really."
"Fame at last Piers," another joked, and a third pointed out: "Too much time on your hands if you're watching Coronation Street."
While one cheeky person said during the episode: "I will forgive Seb's hair now that he's called out Piers Morgan #Corrie."
Another chipped in: "So true of seb to slate piers morgan like that #corrie (sic)," another praised the writers for getting his character so spot-on.
"'As long as it’s not Piers Morgan, he does my nut in' If ever there was a line that I identify with!!!! #corrie," another fan joked.
The flippant comment was quickly usurped by Roy actually having a serious conversation with Seb over his intentions with Nina.
Coronation Street continues at 7.30pm on ITV.
