Piers Morgan packs office after quitting Good Morning Britain – but leaves Susanna Reid cardboard cutout

Piers Morgan has revealed he has returned to Good Morning Britain to pack up his things after sensationally quitting the show earlier this month.

The 55 year old TV presenter quit the show after storming off of set following a row with his colleague Alex Beresford over his rants about Meghan Markle.

And now, after refusing to apologise for his remarks about Meghan Markle, Piers has returned to the GMB offices to clear his office.

Piers, who hit back at Meghan Markle after she made a formal complaint about him to Ofcom, shared a photo on Twitter of his office filled with cardboard boxes as well as a black sofa on one side along with a white desk on another wall.

In the corner of Piers’ former office is a cardboard cutout of his former GMB co-host Susanna Reid, who is confidently posing in a stunning red sequin floor-length dress.

As he shared the snap on his Twitter page, Piers bid farewell to the ITV show for good.

He wrote on top of the image: “Goodbye, Good Morning Britain!”

Piers revealed the cardboard cutout of his former TV sidekick will not be coming home with him as he said: “(I think I’ll leave the cardboard cut-out, would be a bit creepy to take that home…)” along with a laughing face emoji.

Since Piers’ departure, the show has taken a ratings dip as it’s reportedly lost around 40% of its viewers since the outspoken star stormed off the set.

Overnights.TV recorded Wednesday 17 March's rating of 800,000 viewers as the show's joint lowest rating over the past four weeks along with the 26 February and 5 March.

But, not everyone is sad to see Piers leave as it was also reported that Piers’ on-air rants saw him break an Ofcom record for the most complaints in history.

Piers’ actions have received 57,121 Ofcom complaints – the most the broadcasting regulator has ever received.

Meanwhile, ITV received 4,398 complaints after airing Prince Harry and wife Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Previously, the most complained about moment was the Celebrity Big Brother racism row between Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty in 2007, which received 44,500 complaints.

On GMB, Piers Duchess of Sussex throughout Monday 8 March’s episode of GMB, and claimed he “didn’t believe” any of the claims in her interview with Oprah.

During the candid chat, Meghan claimed that she was refused help by 'the institution' when she revealed she had been suffering with suicidal thoughts.
