Princess Beatrices night out with Edoardo was an excuse for a night off from a screaming baby

Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi enjoyed a rare night out on Wednesday night as they attended a preview of A Gallop Through History as part of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The 33 year old stunned in a floral dress and Edoardo looked smart in a tuxedo as they watched the preview, which will be included in the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

And although Beatrice was out to honour her grandmother, royal expert Duncan Larcombe says the evening also acted as the perfect excuse for her and her 38 year old husband to enjoy a rare night away from their baby daughter Sienna.

He told OK! online: "They seem to be relatively ordinary as parents. They’re not flanked by lots of uniformed nannies, it’s even less of a case for them as it is for William and Kate who are quite ordinary parents too.

"For any new parent, they’re trying to adjust to having a baby which turns everything on its head.

"They were honouring The Queen but it’s also a nice excuse for a night off from a screaming baby, no doubt."

Duncan added that Edoardo has been "a rock" to Beatrice over the past 12 months, saying: "This has been a horrible year for Beatrice.

"She loses her grandfather and then her father becomes this International figure of ridicule and suspicion and, of course, it’s Beatrice who ultimately seemed to provide the alibi that her father seemed to cling to so hard, it was all a bit close to the bone and horrible.

"Edoardo's been a rock to Beatrice over the past year. Things seem to have calmed down now but it wasn’t too many weeks ago that it must have felt for Beatrice like the whole world was caving in on them.

"I think it’s easy to forget what it would actually be like for Prince Andrew’s daughter to see her own father accused of the most heinous thing and then be dragged through that humiliation of him settling out of court with someone that he never remembers ever meeting.

"It’s been a horrible time for Beatrice so perhaps this is a sign that the Royals are drawing a line and moving on and it’s about the Jubilee and paying homage to The Queen.

"It’s not back to business but the Jubilee is a nice distraction and a bit of love back from the British public will probably do them good."

Beatrice and Edo reportedly christened their daughter Sienna in a private ceremony with close family last month.

According to the Mirror, the pair christened their baby at Chapel Royal, St James' Palace on Friday 29 April.

It's been said they were surrounded by family, including Beatrice's sister Princess Eugenie, 32, and their mum Sarah, Duchess of York, 62.

The date of the christening had a special connection to the Royal Family as it was also Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding anniversary. However, it is not known whether the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the ceremony.
