Restaurant blasted as customers branded ‘two very annoying Asians’ on receipt

A restaurant faced backlash after a pair of customers were branded “two very annoying Asians”.

The rude message was printed onto the receipt after the punters popped in to get some brunch.

At the eatery in Brisbane, Australia, they ordered a chicken croissant with avocado and fish tacos before the offensive ticket was printed.

An employee seemed to find the cruel comment amusing as they snapped a picture of the receipt and posted it to Snapchat.

The image was captioned with three crying laughing emojis and the caption: “Omg I love my staff”.

Others didn’t find the addition to the receipt very funny though, with one worker even reporting the incident for being "unprofessional and inappropriate".

The worker urged their manager to "call out" the behaviour that's "harmful to others".

But reportedly, the incident was referred to as “just a joke” when it was initially reported.

After the story went viral online, the manager of the restaurant apologised.

According to the Daily Mail, they said: “I personally wish to apologise for the offence and hurt caused.

“I’m deeply disappointed and embarrassed at my actions as they go against everything I pride myself on."

The manager added: “I’ve been a business owner in the area for more than six years, personally and professionally invested in diversity.

“I’m deeply disappointed and embarrassed at my actions as they go against everything I pride myself on.

“Internally, my team and I will do better to ensure we uphold the diversity and inclusivity that is at our core.”
