Risque wrap tops are set to be the hottest trend of the summer

‘Underboob’ tops that cut daringly across the chest (and show more than a hint of cleavage) become this summer’s most risqué trend – but would YOU be brave enough to wear one?

  • Skimpy wrap tops are set to become the hottest fashion look of this summer
  • PrettyLittleThing have reported an 841% increase in searches since trend began
  • Influencers Molly-Mae Hague and Joanna Chimonides have sported the look

There may not have been much sunshine this summer, but that hasn’t stopped brave fashion fans from flaunting a very risqué new look.

Just one quick scroll through social media confirms that skimpy wrap tops which reveal your midriff and underboob by tying fabric around your neck in a halter style have become this season’s must-have look.

Celebrities and influencers alike have been sporting the daring style all over Instagram and Twitter, with fashion brand PrettyLittleThing reporting an 841 per cent increase in searches since the trend began.

With the look dominating online, it is quickly becoming the must-have top for fashionistas, with the likes of Maya Jama, Molly-Mae Hague and Kylie Jenner embracing the trend.

Influencer Molly-Mae Hague also jumped on the trend when she posed in a light brown wrap top paired with a pair of white mom jeans in her plush Manchester home

The fad has taken off so quickly that a £10 blue wrap bikini top worn by Love Island’s Faye Winter last week has already sold out on PrettyLittleThing.

Leading the trend was one of Instagram’s most powerful influencers Kylie Jenner, who in June flaunted her enviable figure in a multi-coloured extreme halter top while posing on a beach.

In April, presenter Maya Jama donned a £56 green halter top which she paired with £85 emerald marbled high-rise satin trousers, both by British designer, House of Sunny.

Model Emily Ratajkowski donned a version of the trend as she enjoyed a stroll in New York last month, opting for a lilac £‌260 Diem top by Cult Gaia which has sold out online.

Last month Zara McDermott (left) sent temperatures skyrocketing as she showed off her incredible figure in a cut-out halterneck dress from her own summer collection with Missguided while Love Island star Joanna Chimonides (right) posed in a bright orange halter top this month

And this year’s crop of contestants are jumping on the trend too, with Faye, Millie Court and Rachel Finni all donning bikini versions of the trend in the villa.

Jumping on the trend is one of this year’s Love Island contestant’s, 24-year-old Millie Court, who donned a vibrant multicoloured variation

Too Hot To Handle Star Francesca Farago (left)  and blogger Hannah Renée (right) have also sported the summer trend

But according to celebrity stylist Rochelle White, the trend isn’t here to stay.

Speaking exclusively to FEMAIL, she said: ‘I have been noticing this trend a lot of celebrities and reality TV stars.

‘I think this is a trend and a moment that will pass and might not be one to stay.

‘The style of this usually is a scarf wrapped around the top half of the body to create the look, but with some tops this is the actual style.

‘I think this look is all about adding the extra lift to support and gives a dramatic look to any outfit or swimwear.’
