Ruth Langsford, 61, has opened up about her husband Eamonn Holmes’ departure from ITV to join GB News. Eamonn, 62, and Ruth presented This Morning together for 15 years before he uprooted to host Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel alongside former Sky News host Isabel Webster.

Luckily for fans, Ruth says the door is still open for her and Eamonn to work together in the future.

However, she admitted that the pair would not be appearing on This Morning anytime soon.

She told Best magazine: “No more This Morning together.

“But it doesn’t mean there aren’t other projects we can do together in future.

“I’m still at ITV, with This Morning and Loose Women.

“This is a new chapter, but that’s exciting.”

Ruth went on to praise her husband for his new role and said she is “very proud”.

The TV presenter continued: “I’m thrilled – it’s what he does best.

“He’s always been very entertaining on This Morning – Eamonn can turn his hand to anything, just look at his CV!

“But he’s a total news junkie. I’m very proud of him.”

It comes after Ruth interrupted Eamonn as he made his GB News debut on Monday.

Eamonn and Isabel were discussing the amount of home deliveries they receive instead of actually going to a shop.

The 62-year-old remarked: “I can now sit on Deliveroo and order my groceries, but I can’t tell my wife because she says she wants this particular loaf of bread and I get it [on my phone]. What difference does it make?”

Later in the show, Eamonn revealed Ruth had been watching and his comments had landed him in hot water.

He said: “A text has flooded in, ‘You don’t do the shopping on Deliveroo, you just get treats for you.’”

Turning to Isabel, he added: “And do you see that’s in capital letters with an exclamation mark?”

“You can’t get away with saying that,” Isabel warned. “She’s watching.”

Last month, ITV addressed Ruth’s future on the channel after Eamonn announced his exit.

A spokeswoman said: “We would like to wish Eamonn all of the very best in his new role.

“As a duo, Eamonn and Ruth have been part of the This Morning presenting team for the last 15 years and we thank Eamonn for all of his hard work and contribution to the show.

“Ruth remains an important part of ITV Daytime both as a continuing member of the This Morning family and as an anchor presenter on Loose Women.”
