Sharon Osbourne and husband Ozzy targeted by fraudsters in credit card scam

Sharon Osbourne has revealed she and husband Ozzy fell victim to a credit card scam.

She learned her credit card had been maxed out when she went to buy a birthday present for her daughter Kelly, who turned 36 on Tuesday.

The chat show host, 68, said it was declined and she later found out the same thing had happened on Black Sabbath legend Ozzy’s card.

Speaking on US chat show the Talk, she said: “It’s my Kelly’s birthday today, I went out last night to pick up her gift.

“I give my credit card and they come back and say, ‘Do you have another credit card? It didn’t go through.’”

The former X Factor judge continued: “I say, ‘Just try it again,’ still didn’t go through [so] I hand them Ozzy’s.

“Then, they come back and say, ‘Do you have another one? It didn’t go through.’

“I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’”

She then contacted her credit card merchant to figure out what had happened.

And she was told her and rocker Ozzy, 71, had been “maxed out”.

The TV star said: “Someone rang up charges and maxed out Ozzy’s card and my card.

“I called through to the credit card company and they go, ‘No, no, no, you’re maxed out, so is Ozzy.’”

She then figured out something fishy had happened and they had been targeted by fraudsters.

Sharon said: “I’m like, ‘I don’t go to that store, or to that store.”

Her co-stars noted that “this wasn’t a couple of hundred dollars on a blouse”.

Sharon confirmed the credit card company is now investigating.

The family helped pioneer reality TV with MTV series The Osbournes back in 2002, which also featured daughter Kelly.
