Spoilers: Dev is destroyed by guilt of leaving Aadi to die in Corrie

Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) will be left feeling extremely guilty in Coronation Street after leaving son Aadi (Adam Hussain) to die in the car crash.

For a while, Aadi has felt somewhat left out by Dev, who’s been focusing a lot on Asha’s (Tanisha Gorey) troubles.

Despite Aadi attempting to spend time with Dev and trying to tell him about new girlfriend Summer (Harriet Bibby), he’s put his efforts into Asha’s life, leaving Aadi feeling isolated.

As the family set off on their family holiday, Harvey Gaskell’s (Will Mellor) prison van will smash into their car on a country road.

With the car set to explode, Dev decides to pull Asha to safety first, leaving Aadi trapped.

And in the aftermath, Dev is understandably struggling with his guilt.

Can he ever rebuild his family?

Discussing the Alahan’s ordeal, boss Iain Macleod told Metro.co.uk: ‘The Alahans are a fantastic and very central family, more so now than ever. Adam and Tanisha are absolutely brilliant actors and the ongoing story about their tension as twins – the squeaky wheel gets the grease, kind of thing is what Aadi feels.

‘Aadi has felt like, hello I’m over here. It’s very believable. The Alahans are the most normal and relatable family to me, their dynamics feel very real. The events of this week is heightened but the story that follows is down to earth and grounded.’
