Shirley Ballas, 61, has been inundated with support from her social media followers after sharing a candid post on the loss of her brother. The Strictly Come Dancing star dedicated a lengthy and heartfelt post to her brother, David, who died of suicide.

In view of her 237,000 followers, Shirley paid tribute to David last night, on what would have been his 63rd birthday.

Saying how much she misses her brother, Shirley confessed her grief “never gets easier”.

She penned: “Well Today 5 th February would have been my Darling brothers 63 rd birthday.

“David my dear brother not a day goes by in my life without me thinking of you I do carry you in my heart through all the adventures I ve been blessed to be able to do.

“You go everywhere with me. I miss you so much it never gets easier, one just learns to cope with your absence in being. But your spirit is always close.

“I loved every minute of my time with you.

“Oh how I wished I new more about Mens Mental Health back then all those years ago.

“Mum and I talk about you often with photos of you everywhere.

She concluded: “My brother, my rock, my friend you are so deeply missed.

“RIP until we meet again. I love you soo much.” (sic)

The TV star included the hashtags “#suicideprevention”, “#suicide”, “#talk”, and “#communication”.

Fans and friends of the ballroom dancer promptly took to her post’s comments section to send her messages of support.

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer James Jordan said: “Sending love,” alongside a red love heart emoji.

Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt simply commented with two red love heart emojis.

Instagram user Tenille.marie1201 wrote: “I lost my brother to suicide too.

“Sending love and support to you and your family.”

Jan.curley added: “I lost my sister suddenly at 53 , the loss of a sibling is heartbreaking.

“Yes Shirley we learn to live with our loss. Sad beyond words. God bless you and your family.”
