Susanna Reid wears £300k worth of bling during ill-fated GMB Oscars show
Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid sported a whopping £300k worth of bling during the GMB Oscars show.
Susanna, 49, showed off her eye-wateringly expensive jewellery she had been gifted for the event, with her necklace alone costing almost £200k.
“Huge thank you to Martin Katz for these incredible diamonds," she gushed.
"I’m wearing £300,000 of diamonds. The necklace is £175,000 and the earrings are £93,000, the cuff is £41,000.
But Susanna was keen to show she was not used to being clad in such expensive items.
"Believe me, I didn’t bring it over on the plane!" she added.
"It stayed in the safe until it was time to put it on and as soon as it is time to take it off it will go straight back to the safe as I don't feel comfortable wearing that much money on my body.”
She teamed the diamond bling with a stunning red gown with a low cut sweetheart neckline and red lipstick – all of which went down a treat with viewers.
One tweeted: "Susanna you look amazing".
"Looking more than a million dollars then Susanna. Stunning. I'm speechless," added another.
"Susanna Reid you look absolutely stunning and that is a dress that I would die for," gushed a third.
The GMB Oscars show was marred by technical difficulties and blunders including Sharon Osbourne dropping the F-bomb.
Microphones cut in and out at random and the red carpet reporter, Ross King, would suddenly be cut to live without warning.
At times, Ross himself stared blankly into the camera before wondering aloud if the panel could hear him.
Piers Morgan even had to cut to a sudden advertising break after Mark Wright's microphone failed to work and other guests' microphones were coming on after they had left the panel.
We’re just hearing Mark we’ve got a problem with your mic," said Piers.
"We’ve got a problem with Sharon’s mic, apparently at one stage we were hearing Joan and she’s not even here!"
Sharon, whose family were famed for their colourful language during their reality show The Osbournes, was chatting to Kelly, not realising she was being filmed live.
She can be heard saying "I'm just a f**king…" before Piers interjects and starts talking to the camera.
Piers apologised to the viewers later on, saying: "We must have to make an immediate early apology for some profanity that may have been heard earlier.
"You'll be unsurprised to hear it's Sharon Osbourne. Three minutes into Sharon Osbourne's introduction to the programme and we already have to issue an apology.
"Sharon, we need to get through the next two and a half hours without being taken off air."
Giggling, Sharon replied: "I am so sorry because I didn't know I was on air and I was repeating something director Bong had said to me earlier."
