The Chase fans open-mouthed as 'famous comedian' appears on the show – and leaves Bradley Walsh in stitches

THE Chase fans were left open-mouthed after a 'famous comedian' appeared on the show – and left Bradley Walsh in stitches.

Mondays episode saw four people team up to try and beat the Chaser – in this case Anne Hegerty – and win some money.

One of the contestants was Dave and he immediately caught the attention of viewers at home as he got started with his Cash Builder round.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer of The Chase wrote: "Bl**dy hell it’s Joe Pasquale".

Another added: "He reminds me a bit of Joe Pasquale".

A third simply wrote: "Joe Pasquale???" prompting a reply from another viewer who shared a gif of Meryl Streep pointing in shock.

Dave also proved to have a knack for comedy like Joe, 60, as he made host Bradley, 61, laugh on a number of occasions.

Dave also proved to be brave, as he decided to go for Anne's high offer of £64,000 after gaining a respectable £6,000 in his Cash Builder.

Unfortunately, the bold move didn't pay off and Anne was able to catch him quite quickly, leaving him "gutted".

Bradley said: "Early, exit, early exit. Any regrets?" and Dave replied: "Oh God yeah."

Bradley chuckled at his honest response as Dave added: "Not gonna lie to you! Absolutely."

The host replied: "But to be fair, you had a go. You know what I'm saying though, David?

"If you'd not gone for the 36 [grand], you'd gone for the 6, you'd be behind now anyway, all the way home again so it's a long run home."

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV.
