Vanderpump Rules got even more awkward on last night’s episode with Tom Sandoval denying cheating rumours with Raquel Leviss – just months before their affair was exposed.

While the pair’s fling wasn’t exposed to the world until March 2023, the latest episode – filmed back in the summer of 2022 – saw several castmates get suspicious of their close relationship.

After Ally Lewber revealed she saw Sandoval and Leviss partying together without his girlfriend Ariana Madix at LA gay bar The Abbey, Sandoval gets his back up and even confronts Katie Maloney for spreading the rumour in full view of the gang over dinner.

While talking to cameras, an off-screen producer then asks Sandoval directly: “Has anything physical ever happened between you and Raquel?”

Sandoval awkwardly laughs back: “No, nothing has happened between Raquel and I. Like, nothing…Like that wouldn’t happen between…you know… me and Katie.”

Although the comments are ultimately brushed off, it came out months later – after filming had ended – that Sandoval had been secretly dating Leviss for eight months behind girlfriend Madix’s back.

Madix and Sandoval had been together for nine years at the time of the betrayal, with the truth coming out at the time of their split, sending fans into meltdown.

Sandoval is seen later in the episode admitting to best friend Tom Schwartz that all was not right with their relationship.

“It’s been a little frustrating with Ariana,” he told his pal in a heart-to-heart. “Like we’ll be talking and she just comes at me.”

He later tells cameras: “It hurts my feelings, because the person I love thinks I’m dumb or annoying.

“It definitely pulls into question, like, whether Ariana and I are right for each other.”

However, fans of the show weren’t buying it, slamming Sandoval’s “attempts to place blame” on Madix by setting up a potential split before his lie was found out.

Speaking on Twitter, fan @mywayaroundit said: “The minute Sandoval gets wind his secret may be out, (Katie’s comment) he starts his Ariana bash so he can set up his defense. Let the gaslighting begin.”

“Tom Sandoval trying to squirm out of being caught out dancing with Raquel is so entertaining,” added @pwendy144. “We can now see clearly how big of a narcissistic, manipulative, lying POS he is”.

“Sandoval could have come clean, but kept lying. He clearly tried to do damage control instead of doing the decent thing,” said @v_verite.

“Ariana deserved better than these two creeps draining her energy.”
