Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has urged her fans not to compare themselves to others on social media.

The stunning star, 32, who recently enjoyed a trip to the Lake District with boyfriend Ercan Ramadan, spoke exclusively to OK! Online about the impact social media has on us.

While discussing how to stay happy and healthy in lockdown, Vicky, who is known for sharing candid snaps and honest posts with her 4.6 million Instagram followers, explained how she believes social media can make people feel “inadequate.”

She explained: “You see all these people on Instagram, right, and they're getting up early in the morning and doing these amazing transformations and doing sunrise yoga and a spin class, followed by giving birth to an avocado, and all the rest of it and I get it, it's impressive, and it can make you feel inadequate but don’t.”

The star then urged fans not to compare themselves to others online, continuing: “Don't spend hours staring at social media and comparing yourself to others, this is a global pandemic, not a productivity contest so take a step back, listen to your body and think about what works for you.”

Vicky, who recently penned a searingly honest body positivity post, told OK! Online that she believes lockdown was “super tough on a lot of people,” but told of how listening to her body helped her through.

The 32 year old said: “I feel like lockdown was super tough on a lot of people and I did feel like there were huge ramifications to people's health.

“The little things that I found helped me, and of course this is subjective and everyone's different, but I found listening to my body was super, super helpful.

“It could be getting up and doing a little workout, it could be having an extra half an hour in bed and reading an extra chapter of your book. Just please don't compare yourself to others and do what's right for you.”

Former I’m A Celebrity winner Vicky recently partnered with Black Tower wine, and told us how a tipple or two in lockdown while enjoying a Zoom call with friends helped her through, too.

She said: “The one good thing that's come out of lockdown for me is the realisation that I need to take my foot off the gas a little bit and have those nights with a glass of wine and a Zoom call with all my pals, or just sitting with a glass of wine and having a FaceTime with my mum. Sometimes we go too fast.”

Vicky, who took part in Celebrity MasterChef last year, also told of how a glass of cold white wine while cooking is her absolute go-to, or, when it’s date night with Ercan, she’ll opt for red.

“I do like a rose, that goes down really well when I'm chatting with the girls, and I'm trying to be fancy and have a nice meal with Ercan then I do like a glass of red. I'm a wine girl through and through,” Vicky told us.

The star spent lockdown in her gorgeous flat with boyfriend Ercan, who she started dating in 2019, and admitted she’s loved the quality time they’ve spent together.

The brunette beauty said: “I feel super blessed. There were a couple of times I looked over at him in lockdown and thought 'thank God I've got you.'

“I think without him it would've been quite a testing experience and quite a lonely time so I feel super grateful for him and I hate to sound smug but I love him more than ever.”
