What are Britain's Got Talent golden moments?

FANS of Britain's Got Talent are familiar with the golden buzzer but 2022 has brought a new golden idea.

Golden moments have been introduced to BGT, bringing a new.element of surprise to the 15th season.

What are golden moments on Britain's Got Talent?

The golden buzzer was introduced to Britain's Got Talent fans back in 2014, giving acts a fast pass to the live semi-finals.

Now BGT is treating fans to a new section called golden moments.

Performers, nominated by friends and family, will secretly be added to the auditions.

When explaining the idea, Simon Cowell said he was inspired by a surprise trip to a school where he told the students they had been nominated for an audition.

He said: "We surprise someone in all different ways and tell them that actually someone has applied for them to be on the show.

"We each had our own surprise to do, it was brilliant, all very very different.

"We called them Golden Moments."

There are five golden moments across all the auditions – three of which, David Walliams revealed, take place in London.

Golden moments are an invitation to audition and not an automatic pass to the semi-finals like the golden buzzer.

Who have been brought up to perform by their family?

BGT fans were touched when Nick Edwards, 35, was called up on stage by his mum and two young daughters in a golden moment.
