ROWAN Atkinson is one of the most popular comedians, best known for bringing the iconic Mr Bean to life.

But fans have been left concerned after "Mr Bean dead started trending on Twitter when an old hoax resurfaced.

Why is 'Mr Bean dead' trending?

Mr Bean dead began trending on Twitter after a fake account, claiming to be of Fox News posted that the beloved actor had been killed in a car crash on November 22, 2021.

The tweet – which got his age wrong, read: “FOX BREAKING NEWS : Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) died at 58 after car accident."

Although some were truly concerned, most users quickly realised it was a hoax, and slammed those spreading fake news.

One wrote :"Rowan Atkinson aka Mr Bean is not dead. The posts about the actor's death are fake.

"Fake news spreading on internet saying mr bean is dead ! Disgusting."

While another one wrote: "Mr. Bean actor dead again for the 23rd time or something. Stop killing the man lmao."

One added: "Another rumour on death of Mr Bean. He's been dead many times."

Who started the Mr Bean dead death rumour?

The rumour that Rowan Atkinson is dead has been spread by a fake Twitter account under the name of Fox News.

But this is not the first time the actor has been a victim of such a sick hoax.

Back in 2017 an account pretending to be Fox News started spreading rumours that the actor had died following a car crash.

Where is Mr Bean actor Rowan Atkinson now?

The popular actor is very much alive.

Back in August, he was spotted on the set of his upcoming Netflix comedy Man Vs Bee.

He was seen wearing a salt and pepper coloured wig, and a red plaid shirt

In the ten-part comedy series, he plays a man who ends up in a battle with a bee while housesitting a mansion.
